Trying a re-post….
Following a power outage, I beleive we have a corrupt database. I restored from a backup but am now stuck in an infinite loop where the them requests re-installation of missing plugins. Even if I say yes to this, it never completes and I cannot get out of the request page to try another restore. from a different backup.
I have removed the line “require_once dirname( __FILE__ ) . ‘/install/install.php” from functions.php but am still getting the dialogue requesting re-installation of plugins which takes me back to the theme page evetytime. This means I cannot perform an updraft restore of the database to get the site working again.
I need to disable the “reinstall plugin dialogue” please…..while this persists in taking me back to the theme pages I cannot do any restoring. Re-installing both basic and full both fail. Suspect because the database is knackered.

Hi Tomas,
Any joy with this? I really need to try to get this site back online asap….
Cheers, g
Hi there,
I see that this was fixed today and I performed my restore. This failed, I guess because of our knackered database. The restore has also re-introduced the infinite loop I’m afraid. If you could please let me know how I can get out of this myself it would be appreciated. I’m intending to get the database scanned for corruptions, truncate the tables in the backup and then have another go at a restore. Need to fix this infinite loop bit first though!
Many thanks,
g
